so getting on facebook before i blog i not a good idea...i´ve only got a few minutes to talk about a week of Chiloè and i am not ok with that, so i will make this short and sweet and write a better blog later.
things i did:
*lived a fairy tale on an enchanted island(seriously)
*played withh 11 puppies on the beach under a plum tree
*saw a sheep be corraled, caught, tied, bled out, decapitated, skinned, butchered, skured, cooked, and then i ate it. and it was good.
*picked plums and apples and ate them straight from the tree
*got hit on by way of flowers made out of napkins
*ate more in two days than i have the rest of the month...homemade bread, meremelada de ciruela(plum jam), three course lunch, and so freakin much nescafe.
things ive learned:
*there is NO limit to how many people you can fit on a mini bus
*chileans would LOVE the radio station 106.5 KOOI out of tyler...only some of you will get this. but lets just say ive heard that "if i saw you in heaven song" (called tears from heaven?) like 20 times since i have been in this country. that and "more than words." so funny.
*there are 300 different varieties of potato on the island of chiloè. not only that, but 90% of genetic material used in potatoes around the world comes from Chiloè! (mom, make sure dad reads this!)
*always follow advice about how to care for your gnarly blisters from nice ladies from santiago.
*the phrase "poopoo suave" or my preference "pupu suave" never ceases to be funny. mature, i know. but say it. out loud. think about how funny it is. just think about it. i´m laughing to myself as i type this in an internet cafe. no joke. pupu suave.
*catie is the best writer ever
i promise a real blog soonish, ut for now, go read the novel catie just posted on hers: catiej.blogspot.com
love you all!
